Steltzner Vineyards has been making wine from the Stags Leap District for over 30 years.  The family-owned and operated winery focuses on Cabernet Sauvigon and Merlot-based reds which consistently score high with the critics.  Their current releases are a 2005 Stags Leap District Merlot,  a 2005 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2006 Napa Valley Claret.  The Stags Leap District, often referred to as “the valley within the valley,” is distinguished from other California appellations by the distinctiveness of its volcanic soils.
